For hardcore foodies alike, the James Beard Foundation award winners are equivalent to the Oscars of the food/restaurant/cooking industry. Those who seek the best of the best look to the JBF awards, and the list is finally out!
While no one from Jacksonville, Florida made the cut (NY, CA, and Nevada seem to consistently dominate awards when it comes to restaurant/chef awards), it is fun to see who and what did. I have tried Jaleo, one restaurant in D.C. owned and run by Jose Andres, a 2010 JBF award winner for Minibar in D.C. Wow, it was one of the best Spanish meals I've had, a happy reminder of the amazing meals I had when I lived in Spain. Perhaps it may help you plan your next foodie vacation....
