New school year, Eat Up Jax, I'm ready for fall!

As my girls get ready for school, new teachers, new shoes, new everything, I sense their excitement and anticipation.  And I feel it, too.  To start off this new school year, Eric & I will be meeting his friends at Chew during Eat Up Downtown, where numerous Jax restaurants offer for a limited time $25 3 course meal options August 15-28, 2011.  Don't miss this event, foodies around town are already hitting up these restaurants and rightfully so! Now that I have FINALLY joined this century and bought an iPhone, I'll post pics on Twitter as we eat along.

As we get uber busy this fall, it's important to remember the simple things: a sunset, hugging your kids, sharing a moment with your significant other that does not include discussing the grocery list, saying a prayer for someone in need, making a friend laugh or calling them up just to say hello.  Or how about just breathing and enjoying the moment? When was the last time you did that?

Eat Up Downtown offers 21 restaurants for $25 3-course dinner menus from August 9-22nd!

Yes, you read correctly. Looking for a dinner out on the town but wallet's a bit lighter these days? Do not fret! From August 9 - 22nd, 2010, 21 restaurants are offering $25 3-course dinner menus during the Eat Up Downtown event. So dinner for two will only cost $50! Not too shabby provided you are getting 3 courses and not just an entrée.

On their website (click on link above), you can peruse menus, but you must make a reservation at the restaurant itself as this has become a very popular event in Jax. Eric and I make it a point to leave the kiddos at home for a special date night (dress and heels event that does not include watching a Disney film), and the biggest dilemma is where to eat??? With restaurants like bb's (oh, their desserts), Charthouse, and Chew, just to name a few, there are all types of participating restaurants that offer something for everyone (even vegetarians). At the end of your meal, there are even more deals and coupons if you fill out a comment card.

Are you hungry yet?
