Oooh, I am thrilled there are 2 Vietnamese restaurants I can frequent without disappointment. The other I've reviewed, Bowl of Pho, and PK Noodles is a new favorite!

Popular Vietnamese soups, noodles, rice dishes, hot subs, and specialty drinks like fresh soda lemonade and teas is what's on the menu here in a basic yet clean restaurant, east of 9A off Beach Blvd.

We had a cousin's birthday party this morning down the street and knew this was our chance to eat here afterwards yahoo! My toddler, a very picky Asian food eater, had 3bowls of their chicken noodle soup so we take her opinions seriously. That's some good soup! For $6.50, a hot, fresh and huge piping bowl of subtle, fragrant chicken noodle soup served with a side of bean sprouts, basil, hot pepper slices, and lime wedges to add to your liking comes to you. My daughters loved using the traditional soup ladle spoons offered right at your table so you can slurp a good amount in your mouth. We ordered 1 shrimp egg roll appetizer for $3.95 (you get 4 large rolls); it can steaming hot (almost burned my fingers and mouth) but crisp and tasty although it seemed to have both shrimp and imitation crab meat inside. I don't care for imitation crab meat - or anything labeled imitation that's served as food. Just give me real crab meat or don't put it in the egg roll at all is my preference.

My hubby ordered his favorite (he's been there for lunch before and loves the meat dishes here more than Bowl of Pho but his favorite soups are at Bowl of Pho) - his favorite dish is the house special BBQ pork, comes with rice, an egg, and side of picked carrots and plain lettuce. In our Filipino culture, that would easily be a breakfast dish but a meal like this makes him a happy man anytime of the day. And happy he was! So easy to please a man through his stomach, am I right?

I love both places, PK Noodles and Bowl of Pho equally so try both! I'm just glad we have the choice at all. I'll be back for sure.
