I am Asian therefore I eat rice.
And pad thai - in fact, one of my dream destinations has always been Thailand and one day, my hubby, Eric, & I will take a cooking class there with kids in tow! So I am always on the lookout for the best Thai restaurant (because eating and cooking Thai are 2 *VERY * different things - the latter being the most challenging and I'll explain another day).
Sala Thai off Beach Blvd. is one of our family faves (sad that Pom's in San Marco closed) but we may have found a new one and one just down the street from our house! (I can be that lazy to get around, yes).
Review: Tuptim Thai not only saved a Christmas potluck social faux pas (was assigned to bring noodle dish and had NO time to cook it so ordered a huge tray of veggie pad thai and they not only cooked it in less than 3 hours notice but it was DELICIOUS) but they have good prices, generous amounts of food, cozy and decorative atmosphere, but most importantly, their pad thai is perfectly cooked each time (not sticky, not dry, and saucy to boot) and vegetables tasty and colorful. (Biggest mistake most restaurants make hands down is cooking their veggies until they resemble gray shadows of what they once were).
I would HIGHLY recommend you try this place out - it's open for lunch and dinner and their menu can be found at urbanspoon.com. Disagree? Have a comment! Please share!
Address: Tuptim Thai Restaurant, 5907 Roosevelt Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32244-2369, (904) 619-0406.
