I had the pleasure of meeting Jay Burnett, one of the owners of Riverside Bold Bean Coffee (869 Stockton Street) at Folio Weekly's last Dessert Bite Club event (check out my comments at http://fwbiteclub.com/), and was quite anxious to try their wonderful organic, fair trade coffees so before teaching my class (and needing the caffeine to stay awake for a night class), I stopped by to get a latte (soy milk please, dash of caramel syrup). Roast of the day offered was a wonderful, rich nutty Peruvian coffee so I was one happy coffee drinker that day! Moist and not-so-sweet zucchini bread was a perfect accompaniment - baked goods come from Bakery Moderne. I will definitely be back - in the same strip as 13 Gypsies and Bakery Moderne. Genius. Bold Bean is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 6 a.m. to midnight on Friday; 7 a.m. to midnight on Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
